Not sure what this says about me ....

When I first got married in 1973 one of the wedding gifts was an ironing board, this ironing board. It's been mended and recovered.
Many years ago I happened upon several pairs of strong cotton and linen sheets which, being a thrifty (and skint) housewife, I decided to make into ironing board covers. Despite moving house seven times since, I still retain this stock of covers. Periodically I replace an old cover with a new one. The last cover was put on in July 1999. The sheets wear well! So, here's to the next 10 years.
