I received an email from my daughter, Ruth, yesterday. It put my gardening efforts to shame. She and her fiancé. Matthew, had a week off work last week.
Some week off!!!
They worked a miracle with their garden. I took this first picture not long after they'd moved into their house .... the main garden problem at that time was bindweed. They treated it rigorously, that meant leaving the whole garden alone for it to recover from the effects of the sodium nitrate

They certainly used their week off to good effect. Well, they say a change is as good as a rest.
