Today we have been married for a whole year. So much has happened this year that looking back to last September seems a long time ago. It's been a year of changes and challenges, of joys and sadnesses. Through it all we have been 'together' and the things that have happened have ultimately brought us closer.
When we first moved up here there were three main things we felt we needed to settle properly. They were: a church where we both felt at home, where we could worship and grow our God relationship, a job for me and a house we liked.
They've not all happened immediately. We found a church at the beginning of this year, County Church, where we are happy and settled. I have had continuous work from that beginning of this year and have just started a job which I am really enjoying. The house situation is changing. The house in Huddersfield remains unsold, but Louise is enjoying living there and covers the mortgage. Tomorrow we take possession of our new house. We are both excited about it and looking forward to living away from here with its noise and cramped conditions to somewhere that we have room for all our stuff and that is sufficiently quirky to make us smile.
A big thing for me has been that Andy has actually found a doctor who is supportive and who cares. After years of being ignored or even abused by the medical system, we feel up here that we are supported. It makes a big difference.
So, here we are, a year on. Before we got married I said that I was looking forward to working out the challenges that would face us in married life together. It is a really cool thing to be able to do.
So, thank you Andy. Thank you for marrying me. Thank you for loving me and caring about me, for cherishing me and making me feel special. I love you. Thank you for the gifts too .........
