I've just heard today that my employment future for the next term is guaranteed, which means I will be paid until the end of August.
I am to work at Kramel First School in Cramlington. I'll be in the Early Years Unit with Reception and Nursery children. It'll be a change from Year 2 and I am looking forward to it. It also gives me breathing space to apply for jobs to start in September.
It's quite sad in one way as the school is due to close this Summer. All of Cramlington is reorganising and some schools are closing as the area is moving from having First, Middle and High schools to just having Primary schools and High schools. It's a big school with very few children in it now. It made me feel sad walking round and thinking that very soon it would just be an empty building, so how much sadder must the people who really belong there feel. I hope I can help to make the last term a really happy one.
Bummer - I'm so sorry you didn't get the job. Life has a way of test-
...hang on a sec. What was that?

I know how you feel, people are already jumping ship and leaving school now, and it's only going to get worse over the next year.

Great news Liz, some comfort for a little while and hopefully more permanent news to come.

Dances a jig - well okay - a mini jig. The thought of all those empty rooms - but hey - space for very big and exciting art installations...and drama and making caves and telling stories and ohhh all sortsa things
:-)
