So, this was my evening's entertainment. I've been intending to go and see it ever since it came out, despite the mixed reviews. Tonight I finally made it, in the presence of my two beautiful daughters. We laughed, yes it was predictable, but it was also well acted, particularly by Renée Zellweger. It's been a while since I read the book, so I don't know how closely it followed the story line, but there were some good moments and the requisite happy ending. It was made even better by being given free cinema tickets, thank you Phil. :-)
I really should go out more, I lack friends in my own part of the country. I sort of went into hibernation when I moved here, I just needed to be me, on my own, to adjust to my new life. Now I am beginning to branch out again. I've tried things that are totally new to me, but I am also looking at things that I used to do and miss. I was in a choral society and I think I shall rejoin, well, audition to rejoin anyway, I miss the singing. I've been making moves to re-establish friendships that were .... I need to work harder at this! Basically, I'm not a very sociable person, I do both like and need my own company, but I think I've got the balance wrong at the moment, too much aloneness and not enough socialising .... So here's to fun and friendship and new horizons!
Hi Liz, I haven't seen the film yet and I keep hearing very mixed reports (usually good from gals and bad from guys) so am undecided if I will go to the flicks or just wait for the DEE VEE DEE. Anyways, just wanted to let you know (as I know you have been eagerly awaiting) that I shall be putting my blogging on hold for a short while. Reason being that the 20six.co.uk site I was using is rubbish and I'm seeing if I can take your advice and use a section of my dad's. If that fails, then I have registered with a back-up site which seems to be cool but not as cool as being able to say "hey, I'm partner-blogging with my pops, cool huh!" - should be giving you my top stories very soon!
