Welcome back!
I hope that you have all enjoyed the summer break. The children came back into school very enthusiastically, with only a few unsure faces. It takes everybody a little time to get back into the routines of the school day and the school week, so please don’t be afraid to ask if you cannot remember when particular events happen or how things are organised.
Diary dates
A list of diary dates for the new school year is downloadable from the news and Information link to the right of this letter. I hope that these will be helpful to you, for example, in planning ahead for dates to keep free for our Nativity Plays. If any of the dates for the year have to be altered we will let you know as soon as possible.
PLEASE KEEP THE LIST IN A SAFE PLACE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE OR DOWNLOAD THEM ONTO YOUR COMPUTER.
Arrangements for assemblies
Arrangements for assemblies will remain unchanged. We celebrate birthdays in assemblies on Mondays. I will invite those children who have had a birthday in the previous week to come to the front of the hall so that we can wish them a belated happy birthday.
Tuesdays will be the day on which we celebrate achievements from out of school activities. Children who have received certificates for out of school activities, such as swimming, football, dancing, etc., should bring them on a Tuesday if they would like to share their success with everyone.
Fridays will be class assemblies. You will be notified of the dates for your child’s class assemblies in the half termly letter from their class teacher.
Information on the school website
Mrs Marshall (now Mrs Curtis) is continuing to manage our school website. We will do our best to remember to send all our letters to her for inclusion on the website after they have been circulated by pupil post. We hope that this will prove useful to you if letters are lost or if you suspect that you have not received a letter. You can access the school website at www.ains.co.uk. After entering the site click on Groan-Ups and then School news.
I look forward to working with you and your children during what we hope will be another happy and successful year in school.
Yours sincerely,
Miss Jane Sargent
